TOP FIVE QUESTIONS ASKED DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH EY NIGERIA

QUESTIONS:
1. Why EY? or Why not other Big4 firms?
Tip: Another way of asking: Why us? Why are you the best fit for this company? Here, the interviewers want to know your desire for working with the company. This is where you have to flatter them; talk about their values (align it with yours), training and developmental programs. You should not badmouth other Big4 because you desire to work with EY. Praise them but elucidate why it is EY and not others.
2. Tell me about a time you displayed integrity?
Tip: The interviewers are desirous to know when you displayed integrity. This question could be asked in a varied of ways. Choose an event that really explains when your integrity was tested. Using the STAR approach, explain how the event answers the question.
3. Tell me about a time you worked in a team that had an uncooperative colleague?
Tip: Your team work ability is tested here. You should not criticise your colleague while narrating the event. Explain to them how you were able to encourage the colleague to understand why the work being done is important. Additionally, display your leadership skill by explaining how despite the individual being uncooperative, you and the team were able to achieve desired goals.
4. Tell me about an economic policy the government should continue and scrap and reasons behind it?
Tip: Your knowledge about the economy is tested. How vast you are of various economic policies puts you across as someone who follows economic events closely. Mention a policy you know the government brought about that works and explain why you believe the policy is right. Also do same for a policy you believe that does not work and explain why it is not right. Objectivity is required here. Expect a related question like: How do you keep yourself abreast on economic events/policies/news?
5. Tell me about a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work?
Tip: Here, the interviewers are desirous of you exhibiting your communication and persuasive skills. Tell them about that time when you had to discuss your ideas with colleagues on any occasion, project, event, course work etc and made them see things your way.
