QUESTIONS:

1. Tell me about yourself?

Tip: Another way of asking: Can we meet you? Give a pitch about yourself – concisely – and persuasive that displays your being the right person for the job. You can commence in different ways and this depends on your category you are applying for. For instance, you are applying as an entry-level, you could begin with the 2-3 specific accomplishments or experiences that you most want the interviewer to know about, then wrap up talking about how that prior experience has positioned you for this specific role. Additionally, talk about relevant certifications and advanced degrees. This question is to tell the interviewer(s) who you are in a succinct manner.

2. Why Unilever?

Tip: This is where you have to play on their brand, breadth and width of products, fascinating things they have done and the training they offer. Express the passion you have always had for Unilever and the industry (preferably using stories). You need to really to the extent of being a passionate and responsible employee. Also, align it with the firm’s vision and values. Expect follow-up questions. An example is: Why should we hire you?

3.  Describe a time when you were the resident technical expert. What did you do to make sure everyone was able to understand you?

Tip: You have demonstrate your leadership and teamwork abilities here. Certainly, there will be an occasion where you would be the only person that knows how to explain things to others due to the knowledge acquired or during when you will be tutoring new employees in the future. Or during a crucial period in any division of the business. How you were able to work in a similar scenario tells the employer how you can function if hired. Expect follow-up questions based your answer(s).

You will be faced with different challenges and individuals in the work place. How you are able to manage them is an important trait for working with Unilever.

5. What is your favourite Unilever product? Sell it to me

Tip: This comes across as easy, however it is not. This question test for two situations. One: You information about her products. Expect follow-up questions based on your answer. Questions like: Why product ABC? What market does it target? Two: For sales and marketing positions, this is usually asked. You have to display a good sales’ persona. The recruiters seek to judge on how you will be able to market the firm’s product if hired. Expect follow-up questions as you would from a potential customer.
