Oil & Gas Vacancy: Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

A medium-size oil and gas company needs to fill the position of Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer.

Location: Uyo

Objective/ Purpose of Job:
To Provide daily electrical and instrument engineering support to instrumentation and power systems equipment in Accugas fields


Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design, install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems
• Conduct root cause investigations of electrical and instrumentation equipment failures
• Provide technical leadership to field maintenance, equipment criticality reviews and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) studies
• Define projects for electrical and instrumentation equipment maintenance capital needs and support the project execution as need be
• Work with field maintenance organization to manage predictive maintenance programs: motor tests, thermography, UPS testing, transformer oil testing and instrumentation calibrations
• Establish and drive reliability engineering principles and best practices
• Troubleshoot control valves and design and tune valves
• Troubleshoot variable frequency motor drives, programable logic controllers and distributive control systems, VFD’s, PLC’s, DCS, Instrumentation and Analyzer systems and metering systems throughout the field facilities
• Act as the focal point for the resolution of electrical and instrumentation engineering questions from conceptual engineering through detailed design to construction and commissioning.
• Act as Company representative for preparation or review of electrical I instrument philosophies, specifications, single line diagrams, schedules, datasheets and preparation of technical requisitions for long lead items etc.
• Provide E&I Engineering input to other discipline specialists to assure that design outputs are consistent
• Assist to develop discipline work scopes for service to be provided by others
• Ensure compliance with Accugas ISO quality procedures and design intergrity processes and procedures


Experience Required
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrument and Controls Engineering, Chartered Status preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years’ Experience in the oil and gas plants, chemical plant or refinery
• Field experience and strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
• Strong ability to share knowledge and train technicians
• Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes
• In depth knowledge of standard international specifications and codes
• Knowledge of safety and quality procedures.
• Good communication skills, cost awareness and proactive approach
• Activity Scheduling and discipline work priorities
• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
• Analytical and problem-solving qualities
