One of Nigeria’s leading conglomerates with interests in oil and gas, transportation, utilities, agriculture, trading etc. The Group, in addition to major achievements in the Oil and Gas sector, now has operations and assets in Farming, Infrastructure Development and Real Estate with offices in Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Benin Republic, United Kingdom, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Angola. Sahara’s businesses range from the oil fields; gas; energy resource limited; bulk storage; aviation; So Energy stations; So Farms; Sahara Development Company. With over 600 employees, she is one of the few indigenous firms fully integrated firms in the energy sector.

One spectacular thing about her is the recruitment process. In previous recruitment, she told candidates to bring a white Nokia 3310, another year saw her requested for the Nigerian jersey used during the 1994 World Cup tournament in the United States. Yet another year, candidates were asked to bring a Business Day newspaper copy on the day of their interview. The company describes her recruitment process as unorthodox, creative, exciting and insightful. There are mainly four ways to get recruited into the firm:

  1. Graduate Management Trainee Program
  2. Graduate Analyst Program
  3. Graduate Engineering Program and;
  4. Experienced roles.

The fascinating thing about the firm is that she “recruits” all-year round. That is: you go the careers’ page, indicate which program you desire and apply. This is usually known as speculative applications (See how to apply speculatively: The process of speculative applications). Depending on your qualification and being the right candidate for the job, you get an invite from the firm. Most certainly, to write a test (especially for the graduate programs).
