Jarus returns to Ife to discuss PIB, fetes JarusHub readers

Almost 8 years after finishing from the department of economics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, I will be returning to the campus on the invitation of the Economic Insight, the press outfit of the department. According to the organisers, I will be giving keynote address at the 1st Economic Insight Public Discussion Forum, which will have as discussants lecturers from the faculty of law and department of economics of the institution.

The theme of the session is: PETROLEUM INDUSTRY BILL: FRAMEWORK FOR ECONOMIC EMANCIPATION OR POLITY DESTABILIZATION? Date is Saturday, March 29, 2014 and time is 10.00 a.m.

I will also be seizing the opportunity to fete some readers of this portal who are students of the school at a cuisine on campus later in the evening. I will also have a brief session with the Faculty of Social Sciences Muslim Students Association, which I was the president (coordinator) of in the 2005/2006 session.

Before departure to Ife on Friday, 28th March, on the invitation of the Guidance & Counseling Department of the Federal  Science Technical College, Yaba, Lagos, I will be presenting a paper on the theme, Skills Acquisitio​n: Key for Economic Developmen​t, at the school’s Career Day event scheduled for that day.

I look forward to these speaking opportunities as I had turned down several invites in recent time, including from Rhythm FM Abuja, Leo Club Abeokuta and Association of Campus Journalists, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho.
