WHY JARUSHUB TALKS MORE ON CORPORATE JOBS AND LESS ON GOVERNMENT JOBS

Sir, I want to ask why you only emphasize company job above government job. Also between military career and civilian one, which is more fulfilling?

Dear Nafiu,
We don’t have any issue with government jobs, but it appears we talk more on private sector jobs on JarusHub than government jobs for the following reasons:
  • We are more familiar with private sector jobs, as most of us have experience in private sector organizations.
  • Majority of our audience are people that want to work in private sector, and most of the questions and inquiries we get are on private sector jobs, where pay is usually higher.
  • Our content emphasizes merit-driven recruitment and you will agree with me that that is more obtainable in the private sector. For example, we write articles on interviews, LinkedIn networking, etc here, you hardly need great interviewing skills for many government jobs – a letter from an Uncle may just be what you need, or knowledge that you’re from same village with the HR Director of the government agency.

Having said that, we do not have any issue with government jobs and we will try to focus more on it too. I also need to say that I don’t believe job in government sector is 100% who-you-know-based. I put merit there at not less than 50% in an old article I wrote here.

On your other question, well, well, what is fulfilling to A may not be fulfilling to B. Fulfillment is a personal thing. Will I advise my son to join military? Unfortunately no. Is military a bad job? Fortunately no. So I’m not able to answer that part.

All the best.

Jarus
