The online freelancing industry is a generous provider of work for Nigerians. If you possess certain skills that can help you find an online job, then you should grab an opportunity with no delays.

With so many platforms offering work for freelancers, it’s difficult to find the best one. The following list of online portals will help you find a well-paying job online.

1. FreelancerCareers.com

This is a great website for Nigerian writers who want to make money online. The constant stream of orders will enable you to find a project associated to your skills, education, and interests. Since the clients look for highly-skilled writers, the company requires you to have at least a Bachelor degree to start working for them.

2. iFreelance.com

Unlike other platforms, iFreelance doesn’t charge transaction fees or commissions. Once you pay a low monthly fee for Basic, Silver or Gold membership, you can access the list of hundreds of active projects in the categories of writing, blogging, accounting, photography, translation, and many other options.

You are allowed to create several profiles if you can appeal to employers of different categories.

3.  EssayWriters.net

As the name of this platform suggests, it is mainly targeted towards academic writing jobs. The company is highly-favored among clients who need this type of work, so you’ll always be able to apply to jobs you are skilled for.

Academic writing is considerably more challenging than the usual projects for freelance writers, but it’s also paid better (you’ll get from $4 to $16 per page of content, depending on the order’s urgency).

4. Freelancer

This is a very popular website for Nigerian freelancers. You don’t have to pay for creating a profile, so take the opportunity to start bidding on different projects in the categories of SEO marketing, website development, mobile app design, writing, web design and more.

A free membership gets you 8 bids per month, so make sure to use them wisely.

5. Compumatrix.com

Compumatrix enables everyone to become an online entrepreneur. The concept works this way: you sell virtual prepaid cards or trade compuceeds to receive money. The portal provides various solutions in digital monetization, e-commerce and online currency. You can make a considerable income if you become a regular contributor at this platform.

6. PeoplePerHour.com

If you want to build a long-term career as an online freelancer, then this website may be the right choice. You’ll find a constant flow of orders in the WorkStream. When you get a job at PeoplePerHour.com, you’ll be connected to your client through an effective communication system. The structured website enables you to manage a high workload with great efficiency.

Start working on the most suitable freelancing platform for you!

There isn’t a universal platform that works for all Nigerian freelancers. Depending on your particular skills, education and interests, you’ll find one website to be more appropriate than others. The list provided above will serve as your guiding point. Explore your options, test few websites and you’ll find the one that helps you make a decent income.

There are a few local ones in Nigeria that I see as ‘time-wasters’. Please excuse ky name-calling: Afribary.com and onikowe.com i do not push for writers who want to freelance. Really. Tried them severally despite the good front.

There must be something you did not do right. Did you try all the available means of making money on afribary.com ? I guess No. Publish your own documents and earn.

Hello Johnson,I must say you really did a very nice job compiling all these. No doubts, they will be very useful for Nigerians. It’s for this same reason that we created a Nigerian Freelance Marketplace called 9jaservices . https://9jaservices.com where Nigerians can do all these and many more, making money from the comfort of their homes and sustaining their means of livelihood. I’m very sure you would like it. Including it in your list of recommended sites next time will be very much appreciated.
