The first time I read Suraj Oyewale’s write up was sometime in 2008 (I may be wrong). It was about Lekki Toll gate. Then Fashola’s Mega City Project was just taking off. I was marveled at his writing brilliance. When I got to know that he was a fresh graduate as it were, I was fixated between motivation and dejection. Motivated because someone of my age-bracket (he is just a year older) is doing something I had dreamt of doing: getting published in the national daily. Dejected because I felt many of us in that age grade were not airing our voices and perspectives on germane national issues like we devoted our passion to Sports (particularly Football) and entertainment.
It was no surprise sometime in May this year (2013), when my instinct was at play. I was searching for people’s name on google when the name Suraj Oyewale came to my mind. I google-searched and I came across
Jarushub.com. I was part of
Jarushub inaugural conference. I was nothing but impressed; as many of us that were present would testify. The quality of the venue as well as the quality of the personnel were breath taking. All for free.
I wish there was something like
jarushub.com when I was an undergraduate. Having not missed any of
jarushub.com‘s publication since May 2013, one is bold to say that there is more than enough recipe for students to excel in their course of studies and ultimately excel in their post-school endeavour not to talk of the working class. A brilliant mind deserves encouragement. One can only keep praying that such a lofty idea like
jarushub.com continues to soar and excel. For those of us fortunate to come across
jarushub.com we can’t but conclude that it is a gift of lifetime for the devotees of the platform. Long live
jarushub.com

Dear Yusuf,
I’m humbled by the generous words. It feels great to know that the little efforts one exerts from one’s corners are making impact, and some people somewhere are appreciating and admiring someone.
The article you referenced was actually published in December 2010, although I had been writing in newspapers 7 years earlier, since 2003, when I was a 200 level undergraduate. To God be the glory, I have over 100 published interventions in national dailies.
As for
Jarushub, well, I have always enjoyed sharing information and experience for the benefit of others. My friends and juniors from secondary school to university will readily attest to that. It’s a passion. I am just following my passion, and I feel elated seeing myself play a role in someone else’s success. That drives my activities here. And as you can see, the success story of this portal so far, does not start and end with Jarus alone. I have been fortunate to have great guys that support me here, either as columnists, analysts or counsellors.
Thank you for the commendation.
Jarus

I’m an ardent follower of your brilliant articles close to a decade now majorly on Sahara reporters, Nairaland etc. You struck chords in me each time I read you.
The kernel of my message today is an advice to gather your informed articles that litters the web and churn them out in piecemeal on jarushub.com.
In this regard I’ll be requesting for an article you penned few years ago eulogizing a certain Mr. Zachariyahu, a banking mogul who hails from Kwara state. It’s a collector’s item.
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.
