To Jarus, from a confused soul

Hello Sir,

Top of the day to you!
I have been following your posts and answers and indeed you are a good one.
Truthfully I’ve been in this twist of finding myself to do what I really love and what I find rewarding, financially too. After each brood I turn out confused and lost.
I have carried out several personality/career tests in this regard and yes I come come up within the same band, ENFP-ENTP. Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing to obtain the satisfaction I need? My answer – I don’t know. It’s really a nightmare and a blessing too.
I have entrepreneurial desires bulging in me. I brainstorm creatively with people. People need my insights and ideas in their situations; and it comes out awesomely. I can be a light and life to a moment. I love interest sometimes. Routines bore sometimes. I want to do everything because I know and believe I can do them all and have been successful in them too. I channel my energies into so many. Focus is sometimes a challenge. I still think I am not where I am supposed to be. I still feel I don’t know myself. I feel lost at times. I know I can and will be a better me. I am bold. I need to be that me.
My name is Chinedum U., I just turned 27, studied Microbiology (B.Sc., 2.1), rated as intelligent/brilliant, graduated 2008/2009, concluded NYSC October 2010. Presently working with a management/financial consulting firm, in the training solutions department and play the enhancement role (research & development & organization), project management, some relationship management and facilitation/teaching roles and any other thing that might show up.
Right now, I feel tired and bored with my job and situation and I feel I am at this criss-cross road again. I need help. I need some guide. I need to see the light. I need to be me. Interestingly, I am in a stage in an interview process for the role of a Professional Client Services & a bit of Sales role of an HR Software company. My thoughts still running wild!
I wish to hear from you soonest. Thank you. Awesome day!
P.S. This mail is my heart poured out, uncensored. Uneditted.

Hello Chinedum,
From what I read in your mail, the good thing is that you have certain burning desires in you. I would rather advise that you do less brainstorming  and channel your energy more into working on the desires you have, you will not magically find answers to your questions by brainstorming, it will only sink you into more confusion.
You ought to arise every morning with the intention of putting your all into the things you know best to do because the best way to know who you really are is by investing your time in doing the things you love and are good at, that way you develop a better relationship with yourself and that makes finding yourself possible. The key to finding yourself is using what you have in your hands right now, with all the excellence you can muster.
You could also draw out a list of priorities for your desires so as to know the ones you ought to focus the most on. Ask your self; What is that thing that if I do not do in my life, I would end up feeling unfulfilled on my death bed? Prioritizing will solve the problem of lack of focus and help you put your best into the things that are most important to you.
Let me know if you need my help with answering more questions.
Regards,
Michael Taiwo.
Now, I’m adding this:
Your situation is actually not unusual. At some points in our lives, we just feel confused, even when things are not turning out badly. You have a good job (I presume that because you never complained of the job), but you’re just bored. You need a change, no doubt, and thankfully, you said you were about interviewing with another firm. Focus on getting that new job for a fresh role. The new challenge may be the relief.
Just keep your head cool. I don’t think there is big problem – you have a job (some people’s biggest worry). I will also advise you don’t stay alone most of the times. Try to engage in lively discussions with friends to cheer you up. You may also try to pick good books, religious (if you’re into religion, like some of us) or motivational, or some biography.  Just decide to read anything that interests you.
It’s just a normal phase in career most people go through.
If you implement this, in addition to what Michael advises up there, you should be fine, by God’s grace.
All the best.
