MOVING FROM COMMERCIAL BANKING TO INVESTMENT BANKING: HER DILEMMA

0

I must confess the site has been helpful to me. I stumble it in my quest for answers to some of my career issues. I’m a banking and finance graduate with over six years experience in commercial banking as a sales and relationship manager. I’m interested in going into investment banking. What qualification do you advise on investment banking and with experience in commercial banking would it increase my chances in investment banking. I would really appreciate a response to my question.

Dear Funke

I passed your case to one of JarusHub Analysts with Investment Banking background

OBAFEMI BAMIDELE, CFA

This is a very interesting case. Her experience could make her fit into the sales function of an investment bank especially if she has a handful of corporates as her clients. Those corporates are likely to need investment banking services too. A qualification might not even be necessary if she has a rich portfolio of clients she can win over for the investment bank she targets.
Reasonable qualification could be the CFA charter or CIS qualification.
So there you have it.
All the best.
Jarus
