DILEMMA OF AN ASPIRING ENTREPRENEUR

0

Dear Jarus,

I stumbled upon your blog while going through a post on Nairaland. I’m really impressed by the work you are doing and I say more grease to your elbow. Keep up the good work, you are  really making an impact in lives.

I’d be leaving school in less than a month and stepping into the world fully. I am a graduate of Psychology and though I have intentions of furthering my education. I also want to be an entrepreneur and  have my own business. The thing is that I am not so certain what I would  want to go into. I have interior decoration/design at the back of my mind but I don’t know if that is what I want I truly want to go into. Is this unusual? Any tips for finding out the right  entrepreneur I should be? Expecting your reply, thanks!

Dear Dupe

Thank you for your kind words about JarusHub, it is always nice to read from people that follow our blog.
Now, addressing your dilemma, we think it is a healthy one because it is inspired by the desire to succeed. By far, the most important factor in determining your success as an entrepreneur is the passion for whatever activity you decide to pursue as a business. You have tentatively identified interior decoration/design which we assume you have some degree of flair for. If this is the case, then do pursue it in earnest, start by reading about everything and anything you can find on the subject and then work on your own living space, it does not matter whether you have a single room or mansion, let the passion be exhibited in an exquisitely designed living space.
After this, volunteer to help others especially family and friends with their homes and offices, this list of projects/clients would be vital to build your brand and get you paying clients.
Also look for experts in the field that you can learn from either by following their work and publications or directly contacting them for mentoring. By the way, do not miss watching a channel like Fine Living if you are really going to be an interior designer.
If you find that you are passionate about something else, just apply the same principles and ideas.
Hope to see you at the top.
Warm regards,
