Both the Size and Quality of Your Network Matter
It’s who you know more than what you know, that gets you ahead in business. Knowing a small group of folks very well, or a huge smattering of contacts superficially, just won’t cut it. Meet and stay connected to lots of folks, and invest your time developing as many of those relationships as possible. – Jason Nazar
Oh my. This is my favourite point from Jason. I so much love it. I have written extensively on networking. I wrote on the role of networking in job hunting some months back, just as I also shared my personal experience. For those who still downplay what network can do for one, let me share another story. At the Jarushub career conference that held last month, I got in attendance CEOs of top companies like Accenture, Proshare, Global Analytics and Dragnet Solutions; Heads of Business Banking and Global Markets Sales at IBTC; and the respected columnist, Mr. Simon Kolawole. I was able to pull that feat because of the network I have built and oiled over time. I didn’t pay a dime to any of them. Please build network. It is very beneficial.
